Have you seen those dance videos going viral online? The ones with the crisp, hip-hop choreography and professional video recording? So imagine that, but in an all-week intensive. Each day you will learn choreography to a trending song that you'll later dance on camera in our beautiful Grand Lobby. And not only will you learn hip-hop choreography, you'll also learn a jazz fusion routine and a lyrical/contemporary piece. Each day, you'll learn (or brush up on) foundational dance techniques needed for that day's choreography. You'll then have an hour to learn the choreo before we start recording groups (or solos if you are so bold). After that, each day you'll learn choreography to a hit song that we will stage and record a music video to by the end of the week. And to finish each day, you will learn how to choreograph a piece of your own that you'll perform live Friday night. Alongside this live performance, we'll also screen our music video and workshop videos that we've made throughout the week. This camp intensive is designed to give you a taste of industry standard dance practices in a commercial environment. This is the type of work you'll see everywhere in Los Angeles and New York City. So what are you waiting for? Get ready for the Choreo to Camera: Industry Intensive with latest staff addition, Demi Cartwright.

Hey there!
Marketing Director: Ms. Cartwright here! I'm letting you know about all of our camps for this summer at Arkansas Center for the Creative Arts. We have many CSA and ICA camps that youth of all ages can attend! We have camps for elementary aged kiddos, middle grades, and teens! We even have a new dance camp for ages 14+ so even if you are out of high school already, we want you at this camp! Many of our camps are even free to attend! And even if the camp is not free, remember that we offer scholarships. Linked below is our new enrollment portal. If you have any questions at all, please let me know at dcartwright@icafortsmith.org. I'm happy to get those answered for you. I look forward to seeing all of your happy faces this summer! I'll even be teaching a couple of the camps myself. 🙂

Join us next Tuesday, March 17th and Thursday, March 19th for our Parent Teacher Conferences from 4-6:30pm!
It's a fantastic opportunity to check on your kids and make sure they're registered for next year's courses. Plus, don't miss the Art Department's Book Fair happening at the same time!

It is that time of year again for parent-teacher conferences. March 17th and 19th, we will be having our spring conferences. Make sure you attend! They are from 4 pm to 6:30 pm on that Tuesday and Thursday.
Also, we have 35 students out of school today. Let's do everything we can to get our children to school, as we cannot help them learn if they are not here.
Lastly, it is getting warmer, so we need to remember our school dress code. Some specifics include no spaghetti strap shirts, no sleeveless shirts, no stomachs showing, no shorts or skirts more than 2 inches above the knees, and no pajama pants.
Please return the intent to return forms and Sister Act permission slips.
Have a great weekend, Phoenixes!
We have a few updates here at ICA that we would like to make you aware of.
First, a new permission slip is going home with your students today for Sister Act. We will be attending on Wednesday, the 11th.
Second, we will be making up one of our missed school days on March 20th. This will now do a full day of school instead of one of our scheduled days off.
Lastly, we will be moving prom to April 25th due to a scheduling conflict with Sister Act.
Have a great day, Phoenixes!
Due to an illness, ICA High School will be closed tomorrow, 2/26, and on Friday, 2/27, for sanitation.
A few reminders:
Sister Act is tomorrow, and if we do not receive your child's permission slip, they will not be allowed to attend. Please send those back tomorrow.
Students will need to be picked up from the King Opera House in Van Buren tomorrow at 3:45 if they are going to see Sister Act.
We will be having Prom on March 14th.
If you have any questions, please email mjohnson@icafortsmith.org
A permission slip is going home today for students to attend the school showing of Sister Act next Wednesday, the 25th. Please read, sign, and return this ASAP. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact Mr. Johnson.
◾️ The safety of all students is the district’s priority, and interrupting scheduled instructional time may pose safety issues for all students.
◾️ While students are encouraged to exercise their right to express their opinions and beliefs, it is important that they do so in a respectful manner and at the appropriate time.
◾️ Expressions of beliefs should not involve infringing on the rights of others, breaking the law, or disobeying policies and rules.
◾️ Students are reminded that in accordance with district policy, any student who leaves class or campus during instructional time will be considered truant and will receive an unexcused absence.
We support student learning and welcome thoughtful discussions about world events, but we must ensure they are done in accordance with district policies. We are confident that FSPS is the best educational option for students, and we are proud to support our students on their educational journey.
ICA High School will be closed tomorrow, Friday, 1/30. We look forward to seeing your children on Monday.
