A native of Poteau, Oklahoma, her foundational love for instrumental music led her to pursue her studies at Westark Community College and the University of Arkansas. Ms. Altrogge’s career includes foundational work as a K-12 music teacher in Gore, Oklahoma, and a transformative seven-year tenure as Band Director at Gentry High School (2011–2018). At Gentry, her students regularly earned Superior Ratings at ASBOA Region Marching and Concert Assessments, culminating in a second-place finish in Class 3A at the 2017 State Marching Band Contest and a featured performance as the 3A ASBOA Honor Ensemble at the 2018 All State Music Conference.

Since 2018, Ms. Altrogge has contributed her expertise to the Rogers School District, serving first as the Band Director at Rogers Heritage High School and later spending four years leading the band program at Lingle Middle School. Outside of the classroom, she lives in Fort Smith with her five beloved pets: Ghost, Sandor, Missy, Sam, and Boo.
