Visual Arts

Visual Art is one of humanity's oldest and most enduring forms of expression, and at ICA, it's very much alive. Students in the Visual Arts program develop a deep, rigorous creative practice across traditional and digital disciplines, building the foundational skills that every visual artist needs while discovering their own aesthetic voice along the way. From the physical craft of drawing and painting to the precision of digital design, students are challenged to see the world differently, communicate with intention, and create work that is both technically strong and deeply personal. Whether a student is destined for fine art, commercial design, or somewhere in between, ICA's Visual Arts program gives them the tools and confidence to get there.

Traditional Art

The foundation of all visual expression. Students build mastery in drawing, painting, printmaking, and more, developing the technical fluency and artistic instincts that underpin every creative discipline. Here, the classics aren't just history — they're a launchpad.

Digital Art

Where creativity meets technology. Students explore the tools and techniques of the modern visual world, from graphic design and digital illustration to animation and beyond. This track prepares students for careers in some of today's fastest-growing creative industries.

Graphic Design

Design is visual communication with intention. Students learn how to combine type, image, color, and composition to convey ideas clearly and powerfully — building skills that are essential in virtually every creative and professional field.
